Get in Touch!
In our ongoing effort to keep this book the most useful and up-to-date crossword dictionary, we hope to hear from you. Please write us if you have questions, comments, quibbles, or suggestions for new material to include. We would especially appreciate your sending along any “new” clues and/or answers you encounter in your crossword solving, so we can consider including them in future editions. (See below for more info on that.) Writing to us constitutes consent to publish your material without compensation.
Concerning quibbles: Thousands of person-hours have gone into the preparation, proofreading, and fact-checking of the material in this book, but it is possible that a few errors have gotten through. If you think you have found one, please let us know. But, before you write, we ask that you check standard reference sources (such as unabridged dictionaries, almanacs, etc.) to be as sure as you can be that what you have found actually is an error. Since we will need verification in order to make any correction, we ask that you include with your correspondence the source(s) you consulted.
Wanted - Puzzle Patrollers. Reward!
Professional lexicographers, whose job it is to compile “real” dictionaries, depend on contributors to send them examples of how words are used in contemporary writing. For this reason, we are establishing the first-ever such system for crossword dictionaries: “Stan and Dan’s Puzzle Patrol.”
Please send us any “new” answer words, clues, celebrity names, fill-in-the-blanks, etc. that you encounter in your crossword-solving, so we can consider using them in future editions. (Factual clues only, please. Wordplay clues are beyond the scope of this book.) Each submission should include the puzzle’s source (newspaper, magazine, or Web site address) and date, along with your name, street address, and e-mail address (if any).
We will thank our 25 most prolific Puzzle Patrollers (the first senders of 50 or more original entries that we will print in subsequent editions of the book) with a free copy of the next edition of The Million Word Crossword Dictionary.
